Bill Simmons says there is 24 male movie stars...
They are:
Smith and Leo; Depp and Cruise; Clooney, Damon and Pitt; Downey and Bale; Hanks and Denzel; Stiller and Sandler; Crowe and Bridges; Carell, Rogen, Ferrell and Galifianakis; Wahlberg and Affleck; Gyllenhall (it kills me to put him on here, but there’s just no way to avoid it); Justin Timberlake (who became a movie star simply by being so famous that he brainwashed us); and...

Modern Art Was CIA 'Weapon' →
For decades in art circles it was either a rumour or a joke, but now it is confirmed as a fact. The Central Intelligence Agency used American modern art - including the works of such artists as Jackson Pollock, Robert Motherwell, Willem de Kooning and Mark Rothko - as a weapon in the Cold War.

But here’s the thing: my family is perpetually late. And I know they are perpetually late, but sometimes I forget because I don’t live with or near them anymore and don’t see them with regularity.
Growing up with Late People did not make me into a Late Person, it made me into a Person Who…
Sums it up motherfucking perfectly. I hate late!!

A departure from art...
3 weeks ago I was subjected, rather against my will, to a drunken viewing of the prologue stage of the 2010 Tour De France.
I didn’t think much of it, until a couple of days later, I could afford a late night, so I resolved to sit down and watch Stage 2. By the time Sylvain Chavanel crossed the line, it is safe to say I was more than curious. After watching his epic breakaway, the numerous...

Promises...
I will attempt to use this. On some kind of regular level. Maybe. If I have the time. Which I won’t.
Freelancing...
As much as I like it, peoples perceptions of it are too screwed up to keep wanting to pursue it as a realistic path. A recent job I have got doesn’t seem to think that my 2 years of ‘freelance’ experience is as valid as having worked casually for a venue. Thus I have been socked with a massive pay different.
Bye bye freelance, you’ve been fun.

As we’ve worked out in the past 24 hours, the quote below is what sums up our problem with iPad. For me iPad would be a home-time luxury. For my mother, it would be everything about computing finally making sense.

What if you, early-adopter geek fanperson, aren’t actually the target audience?
Me: The most attractive guy ever came to my front door this afternoon, asking about his missing orange cat called Boston. It was incredibly cute.
Laura: Did you say 'Sure, it's in my bedroom' ?
Me: In hindsight that would have been a vastly superior plan, rather than being as helpful as I could while giggling like a schoolgirl.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
The first track of the album is the most amazing mix of the Arcade Fire and ‘Lifted’ era Bright Eyes I could ever conceptualise. Not even a poorly mixed mashup could top it.

An audience will happily believe that a bare wooden platform is a blasted heath one minute and the castle of Dunsinane the next; designers soon discover that they need only a few strips of green silk to suggest the forest of Arden. In my experience, audiences enjoy being made to take that imaginative leap; at the end of the performance, the audience are applauding themselves as well as the actors...

Great stunt at Paris Photo Exhibit. High Art vs Low Art etc.
Have you ever noticed how a 10 minute stretch of time, where a series of unrelated things happen, can take you from feeling decently ok, to feeling that your life is really pretty shit?

Today is the second day of summer...
I live in Brisbane, which is the capital of Queensland. The place that’s always hot?
I’ll have you know I’m currently rugged up in a giant pink sweater (that was my dads before I stole it from him some years ago), drinking bad instant coffee and listening to the rain on the roof.
Summer, if this is your re-invented self, please stay. I like you.

– An Open Letter to President Obama from Michael Moore
So far, I haven’t seen anything from the Obama administration that comes anywhere close to my most modest, conservative expectations for policy change.
Sure, Obama has only been in office for about a year and he still has a lot of Bush’s mess to...
General Plan
-Re-script, re conceptualise and redesign entire show.
-Re-make puppets accordingly
-Create set design that adheres to aesthetic, while being light and incredibly portable.
-Built the above set
-Create lighting design for show, based on a venue we haven’t seen, and a set that probably isn’t built yet, and the fact we may only have 8 lights.
-Create public front for the company,...
Do you ever sit back and think you just might be going places? I did today, and it scared the proverbial shit out of me.
